I won't pretend that I know what I am talking about in this area, but I think the Mono Visual Studio version only guarantees stability for the use-case of running Visual Studio for Mac. NET Framework and not VS to be installed on end-users' Windows computers.

I wouldn't go for the Visual Studio version purely based on that - C# and other. Having more recent backups has helped me a few times. Of course, I don't mean to imply that Sonarr will spontaneously combust, but I would say it's worth checking to see if it still works after an improper shutdown in macOS.
